SYNOPSIS:

At 3:00 AM today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 205 km East Northeast of Pagasa Island, Palawan (12.0°N, 115.7°E) embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

FORECAST:

Western Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to LPA/ITCZ. The rest of Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to ITCZ/localized thunderstorms.

Light to moderate winds from Southeast to East will prevail over Visayas and Occidental Mindanao, and from Southwest to Southeast will prevail over Palawan including Kalayaan Islands with slight to moderate seas.

PAGTAYA:

Ang Western Visayas, Palawan kasama na ang Kalayaan Islands, at ang Occidental Mindoro ay makakaranas ng maulap na papawirin na may kalat-kalat na mga pag-ulan, pagkidlat, at pagkulog dulot ng LPA/ITCZ. Light to moderate winds from Southwest to Southeast will prevail over Visayaas; from East to Northeast will prevail over Occidental Mindoro and from Southwest to West will prevail over Palawan including Kalayaan Islands with slight to moderate seas.

Moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds due to thunderstorms are expected over #Leyte(Hilongos); #Iloilo(Santa Barbara, Cabatuan, San Miguel, Iloilo City, Leganes, Zarraga, Pavia, Dingle, Pototan, Mina, New Lucena, Oton); #Guimaras(Jordan, Buenavista, Nueva Valencia) and nearby areas within  1 to 2 hours.

The above conditions are being experienced in  #Leyte(Mahaplag); #SouthernLeyte(Sogod); #Cebu(Carmen); #Iloilo(Dumangas, Barotac Nuevo, Anilao, Banate, Barotac Viejo); #Guimaras(San Lorenzo, Sibunag) which may persist within 1 to 2 hours and may affect nearby areas. 

 

All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides. Keep monitoring for updates.
